DigiCenterNS DIH supports North Savo Region companies in their digital transformation journeys by providing services that improve digital skills, foster technology testing, and increase networking of companies. The hub is located in Eastern Finland, North Savo Region, and coordinated by Savonia University of Applied Sciences and University of Eastern Finland (UEF).

Sectoral coverage: The operations of DigiCenterNS DIH have started as a European Regional Development Fund project. The DigiCenterNS is currently participating in two other funded projects: DIH-World (Horizon 2020 project) and DAIM (Digital and Intelligent Management of Service Operation, which is European Social Fund project). Customers of DigiCenterNS include SMEs in areas of manufacturing, energy, health, tourism, large companies in manufacturing, start-ups in health, public sector (municipalities and City of Kuopio), and other regional ecosystems..
Technological focus: Our customer companies need to upgrade their processes to match the needs of digital age and deploy new technologies, such as Cloud, RPA (Robotic Process Automation), AI (Artificial Intelligence), and VR (Virtual Reality) / AR (Augmented Reality) / MR (Mixed Reality) / XR (Extended Reality) as well as promote digitalization of workplace through digital collaboration and task management tools. At the moment, DigiCenterNS DIH has around 10 active RDI pilots running with our clients..
Customer types: Customers of DigiCenterNS include SMEs in areas of manufacturing, energy, health, tourism, large companies in manufacturing, start-ups in health, public sector (municipalities and City of Kuopio), and other regional ecosystems. Our most typical customer is an SME in IT business that needs to upgrade their processes to match the needs of digital age and deploy new technologies..
Service Offering:

UEF and Savonia will execute together the following demanding paid services, which are offered by DigiCenterNS DIH:
- Technology & Knowledge Transfer Services: Technology & Knowledge Transfer Services aim at enhancing the transfer of digital technologies and digital knowhow in Northern Savo Area and increase the digitalization-related networking. These services shall strengthen the local research and innovation capacities. Technology & Knowledge Transfer Services include: Workshops and seminars on digital technologies and digital transformation; Theses and project work reports; Hackathons; Technology demonstrations; Technology Working Groups (TWGs); and information events on technology & IT standards.
- R&D&I Services: R&D&I Services aim at provide Northern Savo companies with up-to-date information on features, opportunities, and limitation of new digital technologies. Additionally, the goal of DigiCenterNS is to identify and build digital innovation platforms that companies may have access by request. R&D&I Services include: Technical reports and feasibility studies; Technology testing; Technology rentals; and digital innovation platforms.
- Funding and Project Preparation Services: Funding and Project Preparation Services aim at increasing funding (regional, national, and international) applied in Northern Savo Region by coaching, supporting, and networking with companies in the context of digitalization funding. Funding and Project Preparation Services include: Establishing project ideas and converting them into funded projects; Networking with companies; and coaching companies in applying innovation vouchers.
