Flanders Make

Are you an EDIH? Yes.

City: Belgium.

Description:

Flanders Make is the strategic research centre for the manufacturing industry. From our sites all over Flanders, we stimulate open innovation through excellent research.
Our goal is to contribute to the technological development of the vehicles, machines and factories of the future. By doing so, we create added value for the manufacturing industry. Together we help companies innovate better and faster. In addition, we attach great importance to international cooperation in the field of innovation and to participation in European research projects.

.

Sectoral coverage: First of all, Flanders Make has a broad experience in the discrete manufacturing sector with a intense network of companies including SMEs. More concretely, we help realise concrete product and production innovations in the vehicle industry as well as in mechanical engineering and in production environments of a multitude of sectors (manufacturing, food, pharma, logistics, marine, etc)..
Technological focus: The infrastructure of Flanders Make allows open access for SMEs which aim to develop their new products or processes. Flanders Make will give technological support to the companies during the use of the infrastructure. Our demonstrators are also used for training and communication purposes. One example is the “Make Lab” is a mobile demonstration lab where different Industry 4.0 technologies are demonstrated (e.g. collaborative robotics, digital manufacturing tools and AR. This lab is intensively used to demonstrate the new technologies to companies and at events. From our technological expertise we are able to contribute to the following areas:  1) Smart modeling, simulation and digital twin optimization  2) Innovative artificial intelligence in manufacturing – design of digital work instructions, the use of AR on the shop floor  3) Human robot interaction – intelligent programming methods for collaborative robots, safety in collaborative robotics.
Customer types: We serves mainly SMEs in the manufacturing industry who would like to participate in experiments and/or learn more about industry 5.0 in a real lab environment (for example, using the Make Lab trailer, our predictive maintenance setups, etc). .
Service Offering:

• SME technological support

Full technological support of Flanders Make to SMEs taking part in the experiments

• Test before invest

To open up the Didactic Factory infrastructure for companies for SMEs to experience Industry 5.0 in real lab environment

• Skills and training

To re-skill the maintenance technicians from SMEs for the adoption of I5.0 related technologies in predictive maintenance

.
In terms of cooperation with other Hubs, we look for:
GEOGRAPHICAL PROXIMITY: Not important
SIMILAR TECHNOLOGICAL FOCUS: Not important
COMPLEMENTARY SERVICE OFFERING: Important
SIMILAR SECTORAL COVERAGE: Neither
OTHER RELEVANT ASPECTS: N/A
YOUR NEED IN ONE SENTENCE: In terms of cooperation, it would be nice to connect with hub(s) that also combine multiple collaborations (DIH-World, EDIH, local initiatives) and how they keep that organized towards their members/company network.
NAMES OF THE HUBS YOU WOULD LIKE TO MEET: In terms of cooperation, it would be nice to connect with hub(s) that also combine multiple collaborations (DIH-World, EDIH, local initiatives) and how they keep that organized towards their members/company network.

Let’s meet each other
