Transilvania Digital Innovation Hub

Transilvania Digital Innovation Hub is an important actor fostering innovation and digital transformation services in the Nord-West region of Romania. It was established in 2017 by Transilvania IT Cluster in collaboration with 4 other clusters covering Wood Manufacturing, Agrofood, Energy & Creative Industries sectors. Now, Transilvania DIH represents a strong consortium of 12 partners: 2 Universities, 1 City Hall, 1 R&D institution and 8 clusters and have successfully passed the national selection and nominated for the North-West region of Romania in the EDIH call.

Transilvania DIH’s long-term vision is to contribute through its structure and mechanisms to the transformation of industries and public administration through the strategic incorporation of technical and technological progress, digital innovations in their strategies and processes and the integration of society through participation and development of digital skills of the future.

Transilvania DIH’s mission is to create the necessary framework to ensure the transition to the digital economy of the society through relevant, stable innovations and technologies, integrating digital technologies and innovations into processes, structures, skills and organizations, the academic and research environment and the regional IT&C industry will contribute to this process by providing innovative, tested solutions and technologies, TDIH will have the role of highlighting the technological potential through co-innovation mechanisms with industry and public institutions.

Until now the governance board have laid the foundations of joint activities, events, projects and strategies, which have been consolidated and started to generate synergies in the North-West region of Romania, but also at European level such us: participation in European initiatives and projects aimed at increasing digital skills, conducting innovation experiments, developing the necessary infrastructure for rapid testing and prototyping of solutions and events that promoted the benefits of digitization at different economic and social levels.

The partners offer a mix of competences and services and Transilvania Digital Innovation Hub works strategically to catalyze regional innovation potential and capabilities. It also acts as a provider of competences, know-how, innovation programs, support for startups and SMEs. With a vision to increase competitiveness through an innovative mix between technologies, skills, systemic approach, operational models, it engages relevant regional stakeholders and proactively adapts to European and global trends.

Services

Transilvania DIH offers a set of services which are integrated in four main groups:

• Test before invest – Experimenting with advanced digital technologies – software and hardware – to understand new business opportunities, investments, including demonstration and piloting facilities
• Skills and training – Includes hosting or providing training courses, training sessions or other way to provide digital and non-digital skills.
• Support to find investments – Includes the provision of information on various financing mechanisms, facilitating access to investors.
• Innovation ecosystem & networking – creating a collaborative framework to facilitate the transfer of knowledge and capabilities between service providers and beneficiaries.
