CyDIHub

Cyprus Digital Innovation Hub (CyDI-Hub) is a regional network of 15 prestigious research, innovation, business, investment and industry organisations, utilizing state of the art infrastructure, in order to bring the Fourth Digital Revolution in Cyprus by developing cutting-edge Digital Technology Innovations and helping Cypriot Enterprises to adopt and benefit from them. CyDI-Hub vision is to address key industrial challenges in Cyprus on a well-defined set of SMART (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic and Timebound) objectives.
CyDI-Hub caters for the specific needs and gaps of enterprises in its region, particularly SMEs, manufacturing companies and stakeholders nationwide. Cyprus’ economy is dominated by the service sector (84.5% of Gross Value Added) and has limited manufacturing and heavy industry sectors. Furthermore, the location of Cyprus in relation to other EU countries has further disincentivized local enterprises to enhance production capacity and modernise infrastructures. However, a major paradigm shift for Industry Digitization is emerging across EU and in Cyprus enabled from the combination of two distinct forces. On one hand the recent major financial crisis in Cyprus has raised the alarm on the need for GDP diversification and over reliance on Services sector is exceedingly risky. On the other hand, EU-wide policy makers and private sectors have aligned in an effort to bring back manufacturing capacity in Europe from Asia. Both forces are slowly making a dent in Cyprus, hence Cyprus DIH vision is to facilitate and accelerate this shift towards the Fourth Digital Revolution by aligning the regional stakeholders, industry and innovators. Given that Cyprus as an EU country is a single NUTS3 region, the vision is to establish a Nationwide DIH that brings together the necessary critical mass for having a significant impact to S3CY priority sectors. CyDI-Hub is committed to make an impact towards accelerating and enhancing R&D&I investment towards the direction of industry digitization.
