VIRTUAL VEHICLE is a leading international research and development center for the automotive and rail industries, located in Graz, Austria. The center focuses on the advanced virtualization of development. An essential element is the linking of numerical simulations and hardware testing which leads to a powerful HW-SW system design.

VIRTUAL VEHICLE’s international partner network consists of:

80+ international industrial partners (OEMs, Tier 1 & Tier 2 suppliers, software vendors)

40+ international scientific institutions

VIRTUAL VEHICLE is the largest COMET funded research center and is also active in 30+ EU-projects. Furthermore, It offers a broad portfolio of contract research for the vehicle development.

VIRTUAL VEHICLE provides value generating core technologies for future digital operation services driving the digital transformation of our society. Data-driven design enhanced by the automation of the decision-making processes in “real time“ transforms and optimizes the customer‘s assets making them available and accessible in the Internet of Things (IoT) eco-system. It combines different domains with specific expertise like comprehensive energy management techniques and high fidelity models that can be implemented in a full-vehicle digital context.

  • Improved safety and efficiency while maximizing assets availability
  • Reduce operational costs and environmental impact
  • Best possible solution for particular needs in an early phase of the development process saves development time and cost
  • Enable condition based and predictive maintenance of assets
  • Easy and cost-efficient analysis of future mobility and transportation concepts
