Romania ranks 26th out of 28 EU Member States in the 2020 Digital Economy and Society Index (DESI). Based on data prior to the pandemic, Romania’s performance was the same in four of the five DESI dimensions measured. Supporting the digitalization and digital innovation of SMEs is neccesary more than ever. The evento proposes to enable and to facilitate the dialogue between Future of Innovation and Technology DIH and policy makers, and also to engage potential beneficiaries of the DIH services by iniating a discusission of the status que in the region and by presenting the action plan of FIT DIH. Each partner of the consortium (8) has a well-defined comptency in digitization and technological transfer. The planned projects and further services will be presented in order to strengthen the ecosystem arround the DIH, with special regards on the manufacturing industry and fields of smart specialization strategy for 2021-2027.

Futures of Innovation and Technology Digital Innovation Hub is a result of the fusion of different micro-regional DIH initiatives and their key partners, aiming to develop and implement complex and multidisciplinary plan to facilitate the digital transformation of SMEs, organizations and public administrations Central Region of Romania, in order to increase the economic, social and administrative competitiveness of the region to the European level. In this sense, the consortium will capitalize its skills & knowledge concerning mature digital technologies (such as AI, Big Data, AR / VR, robotics, IoT) but also involving emerging ones (Blockchain, 5G, CPS, HPC, cyber security) to meet the needs of 4 key application sectors for the development of the region: 1. Smart cities & digital administration; 2. Industry 4.0 and industry digitalization; 3. E-health and 4. Tourism 4.0
ASIMCOV – Association of SMEs from Covasna County is founding member of FIT DIH, beside of the Association of Business Incubators of Romania, the National Council of Private Small & Medium Sized Enterprises from Romania, Metropolitan Agency for Sustainable Development of Brasov, Cluster for Innovation & Technology ALT Brasov and Iceberg Consulting (orchestrator.) Complementary, George Emil Palade University of Medicine, Pharmacy, Science, and Technology of Târgu Mureş (UMPhST) joined the consortium in order to consolidate the development strategy of FIT concerning RDI projects.
ASIMCOV represent the DIH in the DIH- World project.
